Playlist For Sunday, April 9, 2017: It Makes The World Go Round

Have a few ducats lying around? Some filthy lucre stuffed in a drawer/cigar box/basket of fake grapes? Perhaps some flax that we can spin into gold? Tips from that late night diner shift you've taken on? It's all good. Jazz 90.1 can use it. Spring Pledge Drive is presently in hyper-drive, and we have done enough bad segues and bad puns, linking song titles to money begging, to fill a book of bad segues (Seg-Way! Go Fast! Link Seemingly Unrelatable Things Faster and With More Corn!) and bad puns. We need to get the money and run. So we can cease all talk of donations, quit kneeling on rice, and just play the Broadway (and the Jazz and Standards and Polka and Computer-talk) and get on with LIFE, dear lord.

But until then.

Meanwhile, along with a mini-money theme, we have Lauren (if slightly off key), Groucho (if surprisingly ON key), Country Broadway (Radio Gals and Pump Boys), Medieval shenanigans (Mattress, Spamalot, et. al.), and the usual balladeering suspects (Audra, Liza, Bernadette, John). We also have a new musical to try out (Dear Evan Hansen) and Spamilton, the new Forbidden Broadway type thing, with argh-worthy Hamilton puns ...and I guess we're right back where we started.

Raise a glass to Broadway...and some money, too!
