Well, I'm definitely back from gallivanting the globe now. Having a Philly Fling/Fringe was great and all, but man! That "gritty" part of PA was hotter than a pepper sprout. Despite high temps and humidity, my progeny did wonderfully at those Fringe shows I saw, and I was a proud stage mom. Huzzah!

BUT...having spent all my moola on fashion, food, and fun, I will henceforth be on a diet of ice cubes and toothpicks, and curbing expenditures on Ubers, earrings, and high falutin' theatre. At least for the time being. I'll just focus on 2 On The Aisle and show up for LIVE shows from here til...the holidaze? My lust for travel must be back-burnered til my next "ship" comes in!
And so to celebrate our entree into September, it's appropriate that we do a Back To School Edition. How's that? With 13, School Of Rock, Matilda, Newsies, Grease, Hairspray...all that readin', writin', and song singin' stuff. Frankly, you couldn't pay me any amount of money to repeat those days. Book reports? Acne? Gym uniforms? The only things I liked were band, argyle knee socks, and spelling. Everything else made me itch. Physically AND mentally (especially the gym uniforms).
Broadway's take on School is a lot more fun and much less itchy. So join me this Sunday for homework (that you don't have to hand in), tests (you'll get an A! I promise), and no cooties! See ya in class. :)
