So I'm sure most of you have seen the 12 Seasons of the Year Meme, which goes something like this:
Winter
Fool's Spring
Second Winter <<<< YOU ARE HERE
Spring of Deception
Third Winter
Mud Season, alternatively called Construction Season or The Pollening (which sound much more ominous)
Actual Spring
Summer
Hell's Front Porch
False Fall
Second Summer
Actual Fall
Even though we really can't complain about having a harsh winter (YET), I'm really looking forward to the Spring Of Deception, aka The February Thaw, that infamous set of 2.5 days of 55 degrees (or more). Plus I love the name. Like a recent musical I discovered called Revenge With Music. Music? Revenge? Perfect pairing. Like baloney and whipped cream.,
George Carlin's weather forecast plays on repeat in my head.

I'm also looking forward to Ground Hog Day and all holidays west of that. I actually visualize the year as a clock face, with Jan/Feb/March at the bottom, dripping with icicles and snowflake icons, weighed down by all the extra clothing required (mucklucks, detractive parkas, and oversize earmuffs that reek havoc with dangling earrings). Summer, at the top of "the clock" (in shades of in-ground pool blue and turquoise), simply skips by (in flip flops and not much else). So Spring (deceptive or not) shines like a beacon in the night.
And speaking of night...(what a lead in!)...this Sunday is a Night and Day edition of 2 On The Aisle. Yeah, I know, I've done a Night and Day theme before, but it's tried and true, and I like to think this version is new and improved, abounding in additions, novelties, and whoa-where'd-she-find-that sort of treasures. So Radio Gals, South Pacific, Pippin, Yip Yip Yaphank, Spamalot, and assorted surprises to keep things interesting. A sunrise, an evening, and nights spelling 2 different ways. Just because.
Meanwhile, I gotta get more rock salt. My supply is NOT going to last Third Winter. I also need to pick up more deception...and revenge. BOGO at Aldi's, I'm sure. :)
