Brunch menu: Pies, Egg Rolls, and EGOTs!

Lotsa Babs in our show this Sunday, including songs from Funny Girl, plus goodies from her 1963 album, The Barbra Streisand Album (great name). Plus if we have time, a song from the movie version of Hello, Dolly! She is one of the very few performers to reach EGOT status (which means that an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony adorn her mantle). Here's La Streisand in an emotive mood.

Kevin Chamberlin played Uncle Fester in The Addams Family, along with Nathan Lane and Terrance Mann, below. Kevin has also performed in productions of Wicked, My Favorite Year, Chicago, and Triumph Of Love (not to mention his work in television). We'll hear one of my favorites from that Addams show: "Let's Not Talk About Anything Else But Love."

Another musical that I always try to include during pledge drives is The Band's Visit, starring Tony Shaloub and Katrina Lenk. We'll sample Katrina's "Omar Shariff."

Angela Lansbury's birthday is October 16th, that's this Friday! She'll be 95 years old...huzzah! Above, Angela as that wacky pie baker in Sweeney Todd (Ms. Lovett) and below as...well, anything she WANTS TO BE!

And we'll sample an "Egg Roll" with Patti LuPone, from her star turn as Mamma Rose in Gypsy, the 2008 revival. Above, Patti with Laura Benanti and Boyd Gaines; all 3 of these folks won Tonys for their work.
