Karen Ziemba was born on November 12, 1957
in St. Joseph, Michigan.
She graduated with a BA in
dance from the University of Akron
and joined the Ohio Ballet!
(Interesting side note: Karen's grandmother was opera singer,
Winifred Heidt,
so perhaps Karen inherited her mezzo-soprano gifts.)
The Times has called Ziemba's voice filled with
" swagger, a grainy brashness and brassy energy."
