With its infancy spent with the NeoFuturists,
an experimental theatre group in Chicago,
Urinetown debuted on Broadway during a highly un-musical time in NYC,
September of 2001.
And yet it ran for three years, receiving 11 Tony nominations
(and three wins: Best Book, Best Score, Best Direction).
