Right now, I don't even care to match.
This was NOT the work of Spring 2 weeks ago.
To be fair, we did not get a dramatic amount of snow,
just enough to go "whaaaa the hell" about!
But this IS my old bike, post-snow storm in NYC, many years ago.
I thought good old Shakey said that April was the cruelest month. Well, he was a bit short sighted; March and May (well, mostly May) have sucked ALSO. And June? Didn't start off too well, did it? I tell ya, if it weren't for the fruit trees dressing up the back 40, and the occasional lilac and lily sighting, you could just HAVE this whole effing season on a plate, along with green beans and kale! Especially THIS SPRING when I had to pretend to like puzzles (not) and cleaning closets (a bit) and painting (never) and chasing a bat round my dining room (or was it the other way around?). My daughter is protesting in Philly, where they use tear gas (thanks, yes, for THAT icing on the "cake"), yet here I am, in upstate NY, surrounded by neighbors with TRUMP 2020 signs. Gotta tell ya, I am seriously close to either having a breakdown or turning 2 On The Aisle into a death-metal, GOTH-laden, 2 On The Brink.
versus
Too much ranting? Too much negativity? Well, not all of us can learn Lithuanian and macrame and go KETO during Quarantine. And when half of our population can't jog or even walk down a street without fearing for their lives, the OTHER HALF OF US gets a little damn tired of putting on our metaphorical tap shoes and dimples and flicking on the flood lights (AGAIN and AGAIN) for a positivity polka on the kitchen linoleum, avoiding/forgetting what rages on in the dining room (and I ain't talkin' about the bat here!).
But...
I forget my audience. I forget you. Broadway must march on! As Lina Lamont spake, "And if we bring a little joy into your humdrum lives, it makes us feel as though our hard work ain't been in vain for nothin'." And I mean that in the "nicest way possible" (thank you, Bob Dishy). We gotta soldier on, with our shoulders UP and toe shoes ON. And speak our minds and stop the baddies from taking over the universe. I'm too much of a Broadway ham to stop! Always join me for Always Uplifting Musicals (known henceforth as AUMs) and at least 2 hours every week when we can all pretend to be "shimmering, glowing stars in the cinema (aka THEATRE) firmament." Or close. :)
