More Besties...and maybe 1 or 2 TO BE!

Be Prepared...for the coup of the century!
The Lion King's waged a coup of its own:
the 3rd longest running show in Broadway history (almost 20 years)
and the highest grossing one of "all time."
Below, John Vickery as Scar.
Best Musical of 1998.

"The Big Dollhouse" number in Hairspray...
the Act 2 opener,
with Tracey (Marissa Jaret Winokur), Edith (Harvey Fierstein)
and lots of other "ladies" locked up for protesting
the Corny Collins segregation policy.
8 Tony Award wins, back in 2003.

Bright Star, with music by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell
(who performed for many years with the Steve Gadd band,
the Gaddabouts, and is married to Paul Simon)
opened just months ago
and is up for Best Musical...we'll see how it does!
Above Carmen Cusack, who plays the lead.

Leslie Odom, Jr. plays Aaron Burr
in Hamilton, and this Sunday we'll hear him in
"Dear Theodosia" and "Wait For It."
He made his Broadway debut in Rent, when he was 17.
Leslie is up for Best Leading Actor in a Musical,
and Hamilton (with 16 nominations)
ain't a bad thing to be associated with.
