It's almost like eating the whole box of Russell Stover's. Even the ones you don't like. Because that's what we're doing: Another Valentine's Day Edition. You see, the 14th happens to fall on a Wednesday this year, so when do I haul out the Broadway Love? Before? After? So I decided to do both. I mean, this IS 2 On The Aisle, right? Twice the love! So another romantic, sappy, silly, defensive, and ardent love song special AGAIN this Sunday.
Meanwhile, I just know you're wondering how my saxophone experience is going. Well, I've been to 3 rehearsals so far (practicing every day until my lips turn to rubber...which doesn't take more than 17.5 minutes), and I just suck a little. Not as much as before. "The Horn Doctor", instrument Maintenance Man Extraordinaire (who is also our percussionist) says I need new pads. He'll be doctoring it soon. So maybe my rotten-ness isn't entirely my fault. I'll pretend that it's 50% me, 50% the instrument, and 50%...me. Whatever. I won't give up (yet).
But I digress. This week we get Diahann, Bette, Jerry, Oliver (!), Stephen, and Judy (natch). Bonbons from Forum, Grease, On Your Toes, Kiss Me Kate...hearts and flowers will definitely beat, festoon, and flow. After this Sunday though, no more LOVE. Not one drop. Not one candy-coated, semi-soft, dark or milky morsel, musically speaking.
