As March toys with my psyche (and my wardrobe!), I threw up my hands at the lack of ideas for this week's 2 On The Effing Aisle. Haven't I just played everything? Well, not Les Mis. Or Phantom. Or RENT! They're just not my style. And you can't MAKE ME. HOWEVER, practically everything else seems played out. And no new releases. "Jagged Little Pill?" I take two everyday. (One unknown show that's on its way to rescue me from the doldrums: Joel Grey in that little-known bagel, Good Time Charley, will be delivered later this week, so that's gotta be the icing on the musical cake.) But other than that...
Yeah, this is Good Time Charley.
Joel and Ann Reinking back in 1975...I'm not holding my breath. I hear it's got something to do with a fixation on St. Joan. We're talkin' potential?
So this week's theme is brought to you by my daughter, who has a 20-something brain, which works, which in a matter of seconds formulated a BABY theme. And yes, OF COURSE, that works! Tons O' Babies on Broadway. From Gee Baby to Naughty Baby to Crazy 'Bout Ya Baby, and back. So there. Spit Spot, as Mary P. would say.
And don't look now, but it's almost April. My dreary count-down is almost over, that 90 day slog from Jan. 1 to April Fooooool's lived thru. There is a god. For the birds chirp once again, Daylight Savings Time is cusping, and dare I say...can a bike ride be far behind? Hope "springs" eternal, as Spring hops closer! Huzzah!
So enjoy the BABIES, along with a couple of lullabies to "sway" them, and wish me luck with Charley and St. Joan and the last few days of marching (nay, mucking!) thru March. :)
