Well, we're back LIVE this Sunday, after taking a holiday around the Holidays. My daughter paid a wonderfully long visit, and I really hope you caught our duet of a 2 On The Aisle a couple of weeks ago. It was great fun to have another generation help me wax and wane about Broadway. Then we spent about 10 days drinking too much eggnog and wrapping ourselves in cheese (the new cocaine) and watching old movies. So a good time was had by all. :)

So despite the yen to hibernate thru these next 3 months of gloom that only upstate NY can cast, it's time to throw off that coat of Camembert and resume a regime of fitness/health/and vital Broadway! That means this week's show will:
a.) celebrate the "openings" of Finian and his Rainbow... and Jerry's Grand Tour (one of Herman's 3, count 'em 3, flops. Actually his Mack & Mabel beat out "Tour" by 1 performance. If you're keeping score.)
b.) celebrate the birthdays of Ray Bolger (who was almost The Tin Man?) and Mary Rodgers (who summer theatre-camped with Sondheim? What elbows we rub when our last name is Rodgers!)

c.) make excuses to play Audra and Patti and Liza and Elaine. And silly themes about grammatical errors ("Her Is"??), Happy (sing happy, get happy, talk happy)...and do a very inadequate tribute to Ann Reinking. Hard to truly appreciate her dancing talents on radio, but trust me. She was incredible.
But I'll be driving solo, no navigator, just me and my musical GPS. Just let me get this blanket of brie OFFF and drive straight into January with a bushel of kale!
