Playlist For May 10, 2020: I Stand For Motherhood...and a hot lunch for orphans!

 Hey, where the hell did April go? Man, it just breezed away, spit-spat-spot, didn't it? All that great weather and a super social calendar made it zzzzooom right by. (You can tell I'm kidding, right?) And now here we are in May (that lusty month! So sayeth Queen Guinevere, anyhoo), with all of its plans and hoopla...and what's around the corner? Mom's Day!

Which is, given the context, sort of depressing. I can't see either of my kids, without breaking isolation and crossing state borders and all that. (Sounds like a Thelma and Louise subplot. And I'm Thelma, okay?) So I won't and that's okay. Everyday is MOM'S DAY in my book, so not a problem. I'll hit them up for Surf n' Turf and Shirley Temples when it's next possible.

But we CAN celebrate MOM on 2 On The Aisle, right? We can raise a (Metaphors Be With You) "glass" with bushels of Broadway songs, dedicated to Ma, Momma, Mamaw, Mother, and just plain Mom. Jewish, Upper East Side, Complaining, Sweetness Personified, Disappointed, Overbearing, Neurotic, Ambitious, and breaking-down-entirely-in-Act-2 Mothers. We Moms are all these things, hopefully balanced out in fair amounts, and ready with a hankie, a good accountant, chicken soup, and sometimes bail, all for our wee ones. And that kind of drama is perfect for A Musical.

So be good to Momma. She/We deserve it. :)
